the magic of actually chatting.

Being intentional with our conversations can provide an opportunity to pose that question you’ve always wanted to ask a family member. It can offer the chance to reconnect with someone you’ve lost touch with, to relive shared memories and reflect. Intentional conversations can open a space to learn about each other and develop empathy and vulnerability.

We could all do with having meaningful conversations with each other.

Enter, that conversations movement. The aim is to encourage conversations that deepen connection. Get involved and strengthen your relationships with the people in your life.

listen to that conversations podcast

Join your host Chris as he chats to people in his life about topics that range from the wholesome to the silly and everything in between. In each episode the conversation is guided by a theme and a ‘question of the episode’. Expect a blend of storytelling, vulnerability and talking nonsense, that will inspire you to have a similar chat with someone in your life.

  • life story questions (30-120 mins)

Ask a family member or friend to share their story with you. You’ll learn details about their life that surprise you and help fill out the picture of who they are. Explore what makes them who they are, from childhood, to schooling, career and their hobbies.

  • swap affirmations (5-20 mins)

A lovely activity to do with someone you care about. Taking the time to show some appreciation for one another’s qualities and what you mean to each other. You’ll reflect on what you like about the person, and what features of their character stand out to you.

  • memory lane (10-30 mins)

A fun activity to reflect on shared memories, and have a laugh retelling stories together. Enjoy the fact you both remember things differently, or how different memories stand out to one another. Help you look back and appreciate your relationship.
